Betty T. Fergerson Recreational Complex

The Betty T. Fergerson Recreational Complex is a state of the art hub within the Miami Gardens community which serves as a great place for people of all ages, nationalities, and interests to sharpen their mind, body, and spirit.

Located at 3000 NW 199th Street, the recreational complex is within walking distance of Sun Life Stadium, the battle ground of the Miami Dolphins and the University of Miami Hurricanes football teams.

Within the walls of the 56,000 square foot facility guest can enjoy the jaw dropping gymnasium, groovy dance studios, an indoor aquatic center equipped with a water slide, a techie’s dream computer lab, auditorium ,fitness center, rental spaces, and more.

The complex can accommodate patrons trying to take advantage of the beautiful South Florida weather as well. The facility sits on 24 acres of pristine land which provides a marvelous view of a scenic lake and a mind-blowing outdoor athletic complex. The athletic complex has a world-class running track, and an artificial turf field ideal for gridiron clashes and the beautiful game of soccer.

The Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex serves as an example of the Miami Gardens Parks and Recreation Department’s goal to create a close knit community through people, parks, and programs.

Miami Carol City Park

Miami Carol City Park located at 18500 NW 32 Avenue is a great place to play. Guest can rent a pavilion for a DJ led party, munch on tasty meats from an on-site grill, or sweat it out on the two basketball courts, tot-lot, football/soccer field, and baseball/softball field.

Equipped with a community center that provides programs for all ages and abilities, the park can be fun for everyone. The park and the community center are supervised by a jovial staff which provides a safe environment for patrons and program participants.

Home to the Florida Youth Football League’s Miami Gardens Ravens, the park is regularly vibrant and filled with excitement. At Miami Carol City Park guest can watch the stars of tomorrow, enjoy the many amenities, and the sense of community.

Scott Park

Located at 17710 NW 15 Court, Scott Park is a great neighborhood park nestled inside of Miami Gardens with an amazing outdoor space filled with opportunities for exercise and fun. The park is supervised by a friendly staff willing to assist patrons and program participants in enjoying everything the park has to offer.

The two basketball courts, baseball/softball field, and football/soccer field are great places to develop and showcase big league skills. If competitive and recreational games are not for you, the park provides grills, a playground, and an awesome meeting place for programs and activities of any kind.

The park is home to the mighty Miami Gardens Vikings of the Florida Youth Football League. With participants ranging from 5 – 15 years of age the team provides entertainment and camaraderie that everyone in the community can enjoy.

Brentwood Park

The tranquil feel of a nice day at the park is truly captured at Brentwood Park, which allows busy individuals to slow down, relax, and revert to a less stressful time in life. Located just north of Brentwood Park Elementary School, the neighboring school provides an appropriate background for the park. The on-site football field, pavilion, and playground communicate exactly what this park is about, care-free fun and relaxation.

Brentwood Park does wake up though when the resident Miami Gardens Rams are practicing football or playing a game. The Rams are a member of the Florida Youth Football League and create an atmosphere which is a stark contrast from the regular feel of the park. Brentwood is a great place to put your feet up and enjoy the day or cheer on the Rams during football season.

North Dade Park sits in the middle of the Norland area of Miami Gardens. The park is located on 19455 NW 12th Ave right next to the home of the Norland Vikings High School.

Whether it is the fall/winter or the spring/summer at North Dade Park big time youth athletics are on display. During the spring/summer the two lighted baseball diamonds are the source of entertainment for the community and during the fall/winter the football field lights up as the Miami Gardens Bulldogs practice and compete at the park.

Bunche Park

Bunche Park is named after prominent civil rights activist, Nobel Peace Prize winner and the Boys Scouts of America’s Silver Buffalo recipient Ralph Bunche. The park upholds Ralph’s life mission of equality and improvement of quality of life through its beautiful amenities.

The 8.64 acre park has something for everyone. It features four lighted basketball courts and one lighted baseball/softball field so patrons can nail three point shots and hit home runs day and night. To avoid the sweltering heat during the day, patrons can splash one another in the park’s pool. The park is perfect for relaxing on a nice South Florida day or planning a celebration with a DJ mixing your cares away.

AJ King Park

Audrey J. King (AJ King) was an accomplished professional and a community leader who played an integral role in the incorporation of the City of Miami Gardens. AJ King Park was named after this important community leader and is a beautiful addition to a quiet neighborhood.

Located at 4230 NW 178 Street, AJ King Park is directly behind Carol City Elementary and the kids often make the park apart of their after school plans.

At the park kids can enjoy the playground while adults can satisfy everybody’s appetite while serving up meals from the on-site grills. The lights on the baseball/softball field make an ideal setting for guest to get together for a game day or night. Overall AJ King Park is a great place to meet up with friends and family.

Norwood Park

Located at 19401 NW 14 Avenue, Norwood is a splendid outdoor park with limitless possibilities, making it difficult to get bored at 8.94 acre park. Whether guests have dreams of tennis grand slams, huge dunks on the largest basketball stages, or day dreaming of relaxation Norwood Park is the place to make those dreams a reality.

The park is very kid friendly thanks to its open layout that is ideal for parental supervision, playground featuring several slides, and large pool. The park also has a recreation center, a rentable shelter with the option for a DJ, two basketball courts, two tennis courts and a baseball/softball field.

Rolling Oaks Park

Dictionary.com defines a park as an area of land, usually in a largely natural state, for the enjoyment of the public, having facilities for rest and recreation. Anyone who visits Rolling Oaks Park at 18701 NW 17Avenue can see that it truly fits this definition.

Visible from Florida’s Turnpike, the 33.50 acre park is the largest park in Miami Gardens. The picturesque views come complete with several trees which create breezy areas for a picnic or space to relax and unwind.

This massive park is great for active guest as well. The open fields are ideal for a game of soccer, kick-ball or tag. The park also features four basketball courts, two tennis courts, and a tot-lot. Rolling Oaks Park has something for everyone making it a great addition to the community.
